 ENZYMES !!!!!!!!!!

Do you want your skin to glow on a daily basis ?
A good home care regimen with monthly enzymatic facials will do the trick . As we age, the natural exfoliation slows down , which leads to a build up of dead skin cells . We see this built up dead layer as fine lines , uneven skin tone and even acne in some cases.
Natural fruit enzymes enhance the natural exfoliation process , revealing fresh and healthy skin cells .
Fruit contains natural enzymes, and is safe to use on most skin types . Fruit enzymes also deliver antioxidants to skin .
Enzymatic fruits , such as papaya and pumpkin , provide both antioxidant nutrition and exfoliation to the skin when mixed with other fruits such as lemon , pomegranate , blueberry and kiwi . Enzymes are also very safe to use .
When the enzymes “digest” or dissolve the topmost layer of the epidermis (un-like all other methods such as glycolic acid peels, dermabra-sion or laser resurfacing), there is no induced heat. Hence , the skin is not traumatized, there is no downtime, and you are receiving clinical results while still receiving a relaxing facial .

Lemon: Brightening and anti-aging. Good for normal to dry skin .
Pomegranate: Hydrating. Good for combination skin .
Papaya: Mild enzymatic action. Good for all skin types .
Pumpkin: Excellent exfoliation properties. Good for acneic skin types .
Blueberry: Brightening. Good for acneic skin .
Passionfruit: Firming and anti-aging. Good for mature skin .

Enzymes are used in every facial at Skin Care by Nikkisavy . They are chosen based on your skin type, needs and concerns. Plus, these fruit enzymes smell great!

It is common to use chemical peels to get rid of many skin flaws including aging signs .  However, some people don’t research enough and use a peel that shouldn’t be used to treat the given conditions .  If you know that a specific peel can do the job satisfactorily , you will be in a better position to go for the right peel, which may be a light or gentle peel that won’t keep you worrying for side effects or risks of any complications .
What Is a Lactic Acid Peel ?
A lactic acid peel is a type of chemical peel used as a cosmetic skin rejuvenation treatment. Purpose - Like all chemical peels , a lactic acid peel is supposed to deliver smoother, softer, and younger-looking skin. Multiple treatments help diminish fine lines, acne, and hyperpigmentation (brown spots) .
Features - Lactic acid, a type of alpha hydroxy acid, is derived from sour milk and is used for the mildest, most gentle of chemical peels . A lactic acid peel works like a glycolic acid peel, but it is much more gentle on the skin .
Knowing the benefits of lactic acid peel is a positive step towards a successful peeling treatment since you may achieve your target with a very gentle and trouble free peel .
Let’s explore more about a lactic peel treatment and while seeing its benefits, you can decide whether you can go on with this peel or need a harsher peel .
Select the Right Peel - You have to know first what skin conditions are to be treated and whether a mild and harmless peel can do the job .
Benefits of Lactic Acid Peel - Every chemical peel has its own benefits, advantages, side effects and risks associated with its treatment  . When we are opting for a gentler peel, we get the benefits while exposing less to a peel’s risks or side effects .
The benefits of lactic acid peel may attract many people who wish to undergo a peeling treatment, safely and effectively  .
Let’s have a look on the main benefits of lactic acid peel. Reduces wrinkles, as a result of skin’s exfoliation and improvement of skin cell production . New cells aided by the increased production of collagen and elastin, make the skin appear with less wrinkles and fine lines .
Uneven pigmentation, which normally happens due to overexposure to the sun, can be brought under control with lower concentration lactic acid peel .
The peel improves skin’s texture.  Aging negatively affect the skin, making it thick, rough and uneven. The peel increases skin’s absorption and response to any topical treatment . The skin becomes loaded with debris, oil and dead cells due to many reasons .
People who regularly use topical ointment, creams, etc, find their skin loaded with dead cells, oil, etc, that leads to decrease in the skin’s ability to absorb any further treating agent and the clogged pores also negatively affects on the skin’s ‘breathing’ property .
Lactic acid peel is very helpful if you suffer from rosacea; in fact it is the only peel that is able to work if you suffer from rosacea .
When the time matters for tight schedule people, this peel is considered a ‘lunchtime’ peel that has no downtime . This peel is associated with minimum side effects and associated with complications of minor nature .
In order to avail the benefits of lactic acid peel, you have to follow the instructions carefully . This ensures you prevent anything from going wrong and encourages better results .
How It Works - Lactic acid functions as an exfoliant on the skin . Its acid helps dissolve the glue-like substance that binds the outermost surface skin cells together, so that old skin cells are sloughed off to reveal fresher skin cells underneath .
Results - Because a lactic acid peel is so gentle, results are not as intense as with other chemical peels. A series of up to eight sessions may be required to achieve full results, with "maintenance" lactic peel treatments thereafter.

To keep your face looking as youthful as possible, you need proper skin care .
Here I'll show you how to properly cleanse , exfoliate and moisturize your skin while never leaving the house without at least 30 SPF sunscreen. I've dubbed this process "The Basic 4-Step Skincare Regimen," which I outline in this article .
I also include organic skincare tips for the growing number of you who are concerned with putting only natural, organic products on your skin .
How you care for your skin is utterly dependent on the type of skin you have: oily, normal/combination, dry, sensitive or sun- damaged . Find out what skin type you have .
 The Basic 4-Step Skincare Regimen

Step 1: Cleansing - Simple is key here . You need a good cleanser that your skin responds well to , and stick with it: "Choose a creamy cleanser if you have dry skin or a clear cleanser if you have oily skin .
For you organic types , you can cleanse skin with milk or yogurt (who knew ? ) .
Be careful not to cleanse too often , you risk over-cleansing skin .You really only need to wash your face at night to remove makeup and sunscreen , which can clog pores . Simply apply cream, then wipe off , no water needed (if you have hard water, it can be especially harsh on skin) .
Most women prefer the water method : Use warm water to loosen dirt and clogged pores . Use a dime-sized bit of cleanser, then rinse with cool or lukewarm water . Make sure you remove eye makeup with a proper makeup remover .
The area around the eye is delicate so don't pull or rub too hard . You can also use olive oil as a natural eye makeup remover .
In the morning , a splash of lukewarm water is all you need (I find it's great for removing excess oils from your nightly moisturizing) . Never wash your face with hot or cold water (both can cause broken capillaries) .
Step 2: Exfoliate -  Exfoliation is the step most people skip in their weekly skincare routine . But trust me , if you start properly exfoliating your skin, you will notice an almost immediate difference .
There are several exfoliating options that I use weekly. Here are my favorites:
A facial scrub - You can buy a great scrub I prefer salt scrubs to sugar ones, but it's just a matter of preference .
A Washcloth - Put a dab of cleanser and a sprinkle of white refined sugar on a damp washcloth and massage skin in a circular motion . After a quick rinse, any sign of dead skin is erased .
If you have dry skin, try extra virgin coconut oil .
Microdermabrasion - You can buy microdermabrasion kits . I have and found quite a few I like Chemical peels- In the hour it takes to get a chemical peel , you can take a year from your face .
Retinoids- Retinoids (such as Retin-A or the more moisturizing Renova) also work by removing the top layer of dead skin cells while also generating collagen in the skin . "Collagen is the skin's structural fiber , "As we get older, it breaks down , creating lines and large pores . "retinoids can be a miracle skin saver . I'm addicted to Retin-A .
Should you use a toner ? Toners are meant to remove all remaining traces of oil , makeup and dirt , but a good cleanser should do this . I firmly believe it's up to you . If you like the way your skin feels with a toner . Buy it. Use it. Enjoy it .
Step 3 : Moisturize -  A basic rule of beauty is that if you have dry skin, you should invest in a basic moisturizer . So how much should you moisturize ?  Your skin will tell you. When your skin is tight, it's crying out for moisture . Be careful not to over-moisturize -- this can clog pores .
For you Dark skinned ladies , nothing beats a good oil for your skin . You can use extra virgin coconut oil , olive oil, sweet almond oil or jojoba oil as an Overall Body Moisturizer . Are eye creams necessary ? Well maybe . Why ? The skin around the eye contains no fatty tissue and is therefore very thin and susceptible to wrinkles . Eye creams are formulated to "thicken" this area .
Step 4: Apply Sunscreen - The #1 cause of wrinkles is sun damage , so it's important to use a sunscreen of at least 30 SPF from your early years . A great trick is to purchase two facial creams: One for night and one for day that includes UV protection . Don't use moisturizers with sunscreen at night, the ingredients are not meant to be used 24/7 and can aggravate skin.

What do you want in a face cream?
Do you want something that will protect your skin from UV rays ?
Do you need something that will reduce the signs of aging ?
Or, do you want something a bit different, possibly organic ?
You've probably gone through your share of lotions and creams in the never-ending quest of the perfect face cream .
Moisturizing Creams - Moisturizing lotions give the skin a lift and help replenish lipids in the skin. When your face is well-moisturized, it maintains a healthy youthful glow .
Acne Creams - Acne facial creams are essential to women prone to breakouts . It contains benzoyl peroxide, salicylic acid, or a natural anti-inflammatory and antiseptic agent like tea tree oil.

Facial Peels are a safe and easy way to rejuvenate a tired-looking complexion . Everyone loves a beauty treatment that gives instant results , hence our fascination with skin peels .
Peels vary , from the milder home DIY kits to stronger professional procedures . Whether you are after a mild exfoliation or something more serious , there's a peel for you .
WHAT'S A PEEL ? A peel is simply another method of exfoliating , but instead of using a ‘mechanical' exfoliant such as a granular scrub , ‘chemical' exfoliants in the form of acids or enzymes are used to dissolve the glue that adheres dead cells to the skin's surface .
"Skin cells normally have a cycle of around 21 days" .  "A peel makes the skin turn over much faster , and also promotes collagen formation , giving a fresher complexion .
" MILD PEELS '' Most professional beauty salons offer mild AHA peels using glycolic , lactic or salicylic acids , often incorporated as part of a facial . These work to instantly freshen the complexion and prepare skin for maximum absorption of active ingredients by removing surface dead skin cells .
''MEDIUM PEELS''   Available at cosmetic clinics and specialised beauty salons, a medium peel can give excellent near-instant results . Some redness and flaking are usual but recovery time is minimal .
'' DEEP PEELS''  Used only by doctors , deep peels speed up the process of exfoliation dramatically by dissolving several layers of skin . After the treatment , skin is red, tender and flaky . It may take several days before the skin fully recovers .
"AGGRESSIVE PEELS '' are used very little these days as most people don't want to put up with the pain and down-time that goes with them .
"It is much more common now to do a course of medium-strength peels to gain a gradual, but effective result.
" DIY PEELS ''  Home peels are a fantastic and convenient option for instant rejuvenation . But always read the instructions and don't be tempted to use more product or leave it on longer than advised .
DID YOU KNOW ? Removing the top layers of the skin reduces your skin's natural sun protection , so you must use a SPF30+ sunscreen every day when using any type of peel, and stay out of the sun as much as possible . For this reason, the winter months are an ideal time to peel .
DID YOU KNOW ? The action of removing the top layer of skin does more than just add radiance . Fine lines , large pores and scars may be reduced and uneven pigmentation sloughed away for a more even skin tone .
The extent of the results depends on the depth of the peel and your skin condition. Acid Test Acids used for facial skin peels may be artificial , such as trichloroacetic acid (TCA) used in deeper peels , or derived from a natural source such as alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) most of which come from fruits, sugar cane or milk.

Enzymes are usually naturally derived from fruits such as papaya or pineapple . Glycolic acid , occurring naturally in sugar cane , is one of the most commonly used AHAs . Lactic acid derived from milk is becoming increasingly popular , being a gentler option than glycolic acid , but with similar properties .

Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid (BHA) . It exfoliates deep down into the pores and therefore is particularly beneficial for oily/acne skin types . Citric acid from citrus fruits is an AHA which also has astringent and antioxidant properties.

Night time is when the skin does its heavy lifting .
Like the rest of the body, skin does the bulk of its repairing, restoring, and regenerating while we sleep, so night creams are focused on moisture and recovery . They contain the most powerful , slow-absorbing moisturizers that are designed to penetrate over the course of several hours ; since there’s little to no concern about sun exposure, they also contain the highest concentrations of anti-aging compounds ingredients like retinol, glycolic acid, and hyaluronic acid  which are able to do their work without interference from sunscreens.
The result is that night creams are often richer, thicker, or heavier than day creams . Of course , we don’t mind much , since most of us don’t wear makeup to bed , and the cream is usually absorbed by the time we wake up.

There are dramatically different ways to approach a skincare regimen.
Some women simply cleanse , moisturize once per day , or use a single all-purpose product , while some women have an arsenal of creams and serums that they apply at specific times of the day under specific circumstances . Often, members of one camp look on members of the other with disdain .
How could she not moisturize before bed ?  thinks one woman , while another wonders , Who really needs more than one face cream ?
During the day , skin is subject to damaging UV rays , pollution , environmental stresses , and makeup , so creams designed for use during the day are primarily focused on protection and support . They contain SPF to prevent burning and photoaging , antioxidants to fight free radicals, and ingredients like caffeine to make skin look energized and firm .
Nikkisavy Day creams are designed to be worn under cosmetics, so they have light , nongreasy formulas that are absorbed quickly and allow pores to breathe . They provide a smooth, oil-free canvas for foundation to glide on smoothly.

WHEN LESS IS MORE ; 2020 / 2021 has been a boom year for skincare categories .  With many of us now working from home, we’ve had the luxury ...
